Least I Could Do, a work by Ryan Sohmer and Lar Desouza (the guys who also bring you LFGcomic), is a webcomic focused around the antics of Rayne Summers. These antics are often focused around the beautiful women he courts, beds, and dismisses, however as of late (the past few years) they have moved away from these antics being the main focus of the comic. With the introduction of his niece, Rayne has shown a more adult, but still ridiculous, side. That said, to say that there is a strong sexual connotation would be a massive understatement. They speak clearly and outrightly about sex, as well as numerous other topics. If you are easily offended by jokes about sex, religion, obesity, women…. just about anything, you may want to avoid this one. It becomes clear however, that these are not people who are out there to piss you off, but instead their goal is to make you think about the society we live in.
The addition of another updating day means they now update every day, an impressive feat to say the least. This new strip which appears on Sundays, is a departure from the usual story line, and instead shows a Rayne as a child in a very Calvin and Hobbes esque art style. I life these new updates for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is that it gives me a webcomic to read un Sundays. I also like the new situations we can see Rayne in, and I can forsee many potential and possibilities for this strip (who am I? The emperor?) So far, we have not seen any offensive jokes in the Sunday strip, for those of you who may be wondering. But then again, it is Ryan and Lar, so I’m sure they’ll continue to push the boundries. There have only been two of these to date, but I am certainly looking forward to them, as they are a great addition to the usual strip. Least I Could Do is one of my absolute favourite comic strips, and often the one I check first at midnight (they’re updates always go up at midnight EST).
Yes, I’m back.
